The number of entry categories of CEPIC Stock Photography Awards has been extended, to enable as many CEPIC member agencies and their contributing photographers as possible to be able to submit their images.

The 5 categories are:

  • Cities, buildings, industry
  • Creative and abstract
  • Lifestyle and released people images
  • Nature, Science and Landscape
  • News, arts and sports

The winner of each category will receive 500 Euro, a chance to become the CEPIC Stock Photographer of the Year and win the main award which is 2500 Euro.

The images submitted must contain all of the required releases and will be judged in a contemporary stock photography context. An entry code is not required to enter the competition, so agencies just need to encourage their contributing photographers to submit images to the Awards.

The closing date for entries is the 6th of May 2016.

An international jury will shortlist a minimum of 100 images which will be announced prior to the CEPIC 2016 Congress Welcome Reception. The category winners and the CEPIC Stock Photographer of the Year will be unveiled during the CEPIC Annual Industry Party in late May this year in Zagreb.

The purpose of the CEPIC Stock Photography Awards is to support traditional stock photography and defend the right of photographers to receive fair compensation for their work.

Further information on contest prizes and rules can be found on the contest website.

Trevillon Images, last year’s winner said:

The emergence of the CEPIC awards is fantastic for the industry, and illustrates the way that photography can generate visual concepts and ideas, and to bring to light those photographers who produce them, by opening a collaborative relationship between photo libraries and photographers.
We were absolutely delighted that one of our images won the CEPIC competition last year! Trevillion represent some amazingly talented photographers with really unique and original styles, and certainly the images we submitted to the Competition were some of our personal favourites. But it was wonderful that the particular image by Dylan Kitchener was chosen! It is great to know that the people in the photo industry (not just our clients), appreciate such fantastic work!
